After overcoming LOSC Lille 3-2 in a pre-season friendly on August 2, Borussia Dortmund's Niko Kovač shared his thoughts on the game.

"We saw a really good game in the first 60 minutes. We were very committed, ran our opponents high up the pitch and defended well.

We also pushed well, had good runs on the ball, played very well behind their backline - I'm really pleased with the performance.

“We want to give everyone minutes. It's important that everyone delivers their performance. We're at BVB, there's competition. Everyone has to work for their place,” he said.

Borussia Dortmund's head coach continued by singling out Filippo Mane for praise who put in a strong shift in both of their last two friendlies.

“Filippo is young, you can see his potential. Unfortunately, he was injured a lot last season. Now we're guiding him through his preparation with us.

“Of course, we'll also make sure he gets enough minutes in the second team. But these games here are helping him. He's doing really well,” explained Kovač.
