Xaver Schlager could be heading to the English Premier League this summer, with Bild reporting that his former coach Marco Rose wants to bring him to AFC Bournemouth.

Schlager would be available on a free transfer, as his contract with RB Leipzig is set to expire and has already been confirmed not to be extended.

Celtic, Juventus, and Roma have also been linked with the Austrian international, who is currently weighing up his options and may not decide on his next club until after the World Cup.

Marco Rose was confirmed as Bournemouth head coach earlier this month, with the 49-year-old set to succeed Andoni Iraola at the end of the season.

He previously managed RB Leipzig between September 2022 and March 2025.
