RB Leipzig have sacked head coach Marco Rose following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

"We believed in Marco and his team for a long time and tried everything to turn things around," said RB Leipzig sporting managing director Marcel Schäfer.

"However, given the developments and the lack of results, we are convinced that we need a new impetus for the remaining games in order to achieve our goals for the season.

"We would like to thank Marco and his coaching team for the past two and a half years, the success we have achieved together and their commitment to our club."

Rose has been in charge of RB Leipzig since September 2022. The club currently sit sixth in the Bundesliga.

Die Roten Bullen will shortly announce who will take charge of the team until the end of the season.
