FC Augsburg have sacked Sandro Wagner as head coach, according to both Bild and Sky Germany.

The decision comes after Augsburg’s 3-0 defeat to Hoffenheim on Saturday, which leaves the club 14th in the Bundesliga table.

According to Sky, Manuel Baum will take over on an interim basis until the winter break.

Augsburg have won just one of their last seven competitive matches, losing five of them.

Wagner was appointed head coach last summer, replacing Jess Thorup at the WWK-Arena.

An official confirmation of the sacking is expected later on Monday.
