Report: Bayern line up Amrabat as Rice alternative

Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has reportedly attracted interest from Bayern Munich as an alternative to Declan Rice.

Bayern Munich have identified Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat as an alternative to Declan Rice, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Rice is said to be Bayern's primary target for the defensive midfield position, but with Arsenal thought to be leading the race for the West Ham captain's signature, the Bavarians now appear to have found another option in the shape of Amrabat.

Like Rice, however, Amrabat is said to be the subject of interest from a number of clubs, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid all linked with the 24-year-old.

Amrabat is out of contract in 2024, but is said to have an option to extend his deal until 2025.

Fiorentina paid 19.5 million euros to sign him from Hellas Verona in January 2020.
