Frankfurt sign Ecuadorian defensive prospect

Eintracht Frankfurt announced that they had signed Ecuadorian defensive talent Davis Carlos Bautista Medina to a four-year-deal on Friday evening.

Recent Eintracht Frankfurt signing Willian Pacho Tenorio will have the pleasure of one of his countryman's company at this summer's SGE training camp. On Thursday evening, the RheinMain Adler announced that they had signed another Ecuadorian central defender to a long-term-deal. Davis Carlos Bautista Medina joins Frankfurt from the youth academy of SD Aucas Quito.

Terms of the 18-year-old's transfer were not disclosed. It was also revealed that Markus Krösche and the SGE administrative team consider Bautista to be a long-term prospect. The teenager will report directly to the reserves and may potentially be loaned out. Both Krösche and his newly appointed sporting director Timmo Hardung noted that they had no plans to throw the youngster in straight away.

"Davis is a very talented player who we undoubtedly trust to make the ambitious leap from South America to Europe," Hardung is quoted as saying in a club statement, "We want to build him up step by step and help him realize his potential for the Bundesliga. With a view to regular competitive practice, we could initially consider a loan."
