West Ham vs. Freiburg preview: Team news and predicted lineups

Here is our preview of Thursday's Europa League group stage clash between West Ham and Freiburg, including predicted lineups.
Both West Ham and Freiburg go into Thursday's Europa League clash in London knowing they've already progressed from the group stage.

But with the two clubs level on 12 points, there's still a lot at stake, with the second-placed team in the group set to meet a Champions League runner-up in the knockout stage next spring.

The Hammers have not had the ideal build-up to the game, having suffered a shock 5-0 defeat to Fulham at the weekend that ended a six-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Freiburg are on a three-match winning streak, with Christian Streich's men having won their last two matches against Mainz and Wolfsburg 1-0 without impressing.

Michael Gregoritsch has been in particular fine form for them lately, netting five times in his last three games.

On the injury front, West Ham will be without Michail Antonio, while Alphonse Areola is a doubt.

Freiburg have no new injury concerns, but remain without Luka Kübler, Christian Günter, Yannik Keitel, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Maximilian Philipp, Benjamin Uphoff and probably Kenneth Schmidt as well.
