Sky Report: Köln plan to loan out recently returned Dietz

Sky Germany reports that 1. FC Köln are lining up second and third division sides as loan destinations for recently returned striker Florian Dietz.
After finally making a long-awaited comeback from a serious knee injury last Sunday, Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln apparently envision a loan-out to the German lower divisions as a best means to ensure 25-year-old striker Florian Dietz can play his way back into form. Sky Germany reports that both second and third division sides are being considered, with Rot-Weiß Essen being specifically named as one interested party.

Dietz joined the Effzeh from 3. Liga side SpVgg Unterhaching during the summer 2021 transfer window on a free. He scored one top flight goal for the cathedral city side in addition to netting two tallies during Köln's 2022/23 Conference League campaign. Among one of the seven players Köln are rumored to be shopping in the coming transfer window, Dietz remains under contract with Köln through 2025.
