Bayern plan huge memorial ceremony for Beckenbauer at Allianz Arena, reveals Rummenigge
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge wants Bayern Munich to pay tribute to Franz Beckenbauer, who passed away on Monday, with a huge memorial ceremony at the Allianz Arena.
Football lost one of its greatest icons on Sunday when former Germany and FC Bayern star Franz Beckenbauer died at the age of 78.
The loss of Beckenbauer has been mourned by the entire football world, including FC Bayern supervisory board member Karl Heinz Rummenigge, who reveals that the Bavarian club are planning to hold a huge memorial service for 'Der Kaiser' at the Allianz Arena.
"The entire football world and beyond is mourning the loss of our friend Franz. FC Bayern should organize a memorial service for him in the stadium, which would never have existed without him," Rummenigge told Bild.
According to the German tabloid, Rummenigge has already spoken to Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness on the phone about the matter, with a meeting to take place on Tuesday.
