Frimpong admits Liverpool move "would be great"

Jeremie Frimpong has publicly flirted with a move to Liverpool.
Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong has spoken highly of Liverpool.

Asked if he would be open to a move to Anfield should the opportunity arise, Frimpong told Ziggo Sport:

"Great club with history. That would be great. Who knows what the future holds."

For now, however, Frimpong is focused on the tasks ahead for Bayer Leverkusen, who are enjoying a sensational campaign, leading the Bundesliga and still in the running for the DFB-Pokal and Europa League.

Pointing to head coach Xabi Alonso as key to Leverkusen's success, Frimpong stressed that it's important to stay focused and not take anything for granted.

"We haven't lost yet this season. But yes, football is changeable, we have to stay focused. We all trust the coach and know we can do something big this season. We all want to win a trophy and the coach is helping us with his style of play," Frimpong said.

"He has worked under top coaches himself and now he can bring that experience to the table. Everyone is enjoying the style of play, but we should not be too complacent. Yes, we are eight points up, but that is nothing."
