Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund forward Sébastien Haller is on the verge of a permanent move back to FC Utrecht, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

Dortmund, eager to remove Haller from their wage bill, will not receive a transfer fee, according to the report.

Instead, the 31-year-old striker will receive a severance package of €2 million from the club.

Accordingly, an unfortunate chapter for the French forward appears to be coming to an end.

Expectations were high when Haller joined Dortmund from Ajax for €31 million in 2022, but he was diagnosed with cancer shortly after his arrival and was never able to return to his previous top form at the club.
