DFB coaching staff to stay until 2026

The german national team have given Julian Nagelsmann's coaching staff, namely assistent coaches Sandro Wagner and Benjamin Glück, goalkeeping coach Andreas Kronenberg and set piece coach Mads Buttgereit, new contracts until 2026.

With all club competitions coming to an end in the coming days and weeks, we're already looking at the Euro 2024 tournament in June. DFB coach Julian Nagelsmann has officially announced his squad for the Euros! However, even before the tournament starts, the german federation have made plans for the coming years.

DFB coach Julian Nagelsmann and sporting director Rudi Völler have already signed new contracts which keep them at the federation until 2026. Nagelsmann has now confirmed at today's press conference, that his coaching staff have also agreed on a new contract - also until 2026.

“I'm extremly happy that the people in my coaching staff have signed new deals. It was the basic requirement for me to sign a new contract here as well. Every one of us wanted to continue on this journey and that is a fantastic sign”, said Nagelsmann.

Assistent coaches Sandro Wagner and Benjamin Glück, goalkeeping coach Andreas Kronenberg and set piece coach Mads Buttgereit will keep working together with Nagelsmann until the world cup in 2026.

However, it's uncertain whether Sandro Wagner will actually fulfill his contract with the DFB: the former Unterhaching head coach has already received many inquiries from different Bundesliga clubs. Wagner wants to complete his coaching license, which he will have done by the end of the year - after that, he would be able to take over a club in Germany's highest football division.

For now, the coaching team is all set and prepared to give all german and all international Fans an exciting tournament in the summer.
