Eintracht Frankfurt's breakthrough star Ayoube Amaimouni has been named in Morocco's 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The 21-year-old's rise has been a remarkable one given he was playing fifth-tier Oberliga football with SpVgg Erkenschwick two years ago.

Amaimouni made the move to Frankfurt on 2 January 2026 before providing 3 goals and 2 assists in 17 Bundesliga games this season.

Joining Amaimouni on the plane to the USA, Mexico and Canada is his compatriot at VfB Stuttgart in Bilal El Khannouss.

The 22-year-old – who just signed permanently for Stuttgart – played 41 games in all competitions, providing 9 goals and 5 assists.

One such name from the Bundesliga in Bayer Leverkusen's Eliesse Ben Seghir has missed out having been struggling with an ankle injury.

Morocco's team also features former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich full-backs Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui respectively.
