Gladbach updates: Eindhoven submit bid for Itakura, Fraulo eager to "make amends" in Utrecht

Germany's main sporting tabloid and Eindhoven's Dagblad both report that PSV have tendered an €11.5 million offer for Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Ko Itakura.

In other Gladbach-related transfer news involving an Erdevisie club, Danish midfielder Oscar Fraulo's re-loan-out to Dutch side FC Utrecht has been confirmed.

Among the sides losing out in the race to sign Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg, PSV Eindhoven have reportedly turned their attention to Japanese national team defender Ko Itakura of Borussia Mönchengladbach. Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid and Eindhoven's Dagblad both report that the Erdevisie outfit have tendered an €11.5 million offer for the €12-million-valued center back.

Such a bid isn't likely to get Gladbach to budge on one of their crucial players. Most German footballing media sources claim that Roland Virkus and the BMG administrative team aren't prepared to entertain any offers below €15 million. This is the presumed amount of the exit clause in Itakura's current contract with the Foals. It's rumored that the direct clause has already expired.

In other Gladbach-related transfer news involving a Dutch side, Danish midfielder Oscar Fraulo's loan out back to FC Utrecht was recently confirmed. At his unveiling yesterday, the 20-year-old confirmed that it was he himself who sought to return to the Netherlands. Fraulo saw a straight red in a play-off final that would have seen Utrecht qualify for the Conference League at the end of last season.

“When I got the offer to play another year for FC Utrecht, I really wanted to take advantage of it,” Fraulo revealed on the Dutch club's website. “It didn't end the way I would have liked it to here. I wanted to come back because I had the feeling that I wanted to make amends and fight for European football together.”

“He gained match practice there with a first division club and developed well," Virkus added in his own statement, "The loan has therefore proved to be a success for all sides. “By loaning him out again, we hope that he will continue his positive development and earn many more high-level appearances. We can't guarantee him this match practice due to the fierce competition at our club.”
