Gruda to stay longer with German national team

Mainz 05 have announced that Brajan Gruda will remain with the German national team for longer than originally planned.

Last week, the German Football Association (DFB) announced that U21 prospects Brajan Gruda and Rocco Reitz would be given the opportunity to train with the senior national team until this Friday.

Now it's clear that at least Gruda will be staying with Julian Nagelsmann's squad for longer than initially announced.

Gruda's club Mainz 05 confirmed on Wednesday that the 19-year-old will remain with the team beyond the training camp in Blankhenhain.

He will be available to the Germany coach until June 7, including the two friendly matches against Ukraine and Greece.

The 19-year-old attacker received plenty of praise at a press conference on Tuesday, with Thomas Müller saying:

„When you watch him, you see that he has something special! It‘s about consistency for him now."
