After an aborted move to the German capital last summer, once-capped German international Diego Demme has finally moved to Charlottenburg after all. Hertha BSC confirmed the pick-up of the former Leipzig star on a free transfer Friday. The 32-year-old joins Heidenheim's Kevin Sessa, Magdeburg striker Luca Schuler, and former FCB main Michaël Cusiance as die alte Dame's fourth new summer addition.

"With his quality and experience, Diego will be a great addition to our central midfield," Hertha sporting director Benjamin Weber noted in a club statement, We are delighted that we have now been able to implement his transfer to Hertha BSC..

"I had good talks with those in positions of responsibility," the player himself added, "I felt a huge sense of anticipation when I signed. You can achieve a lot with such a big club."
