After playing a key role in Bayer Leverkusen's double-winning campaign - particularly in the first half - Jonas Hofmann has slipped down the pecking order this season.

The attacking midfielder has played just 12 games and 540 minutes in all competitions and has barely featured since the turn of the year.

As a result, the club and player have reportedly decided to part company at the end of the season, with Hofmann's agent, Marco Gutfleisch, looking for a new club for the 32-year-old.

According to Sport Bild, Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes and Hofmann's agent came to the decision at a meeting last Friday.

Hofmann joined Leverkusen from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2023 for a reported fee of €10 million.
