Holstein Kiel sign Gigovic

Armin Gigovic has joined Holstein Kiel from Rostov.

Newly-promoted Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel have strengthened in midfield with the signing of Armin Gigovic.

The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Danish champions FC Midtjylland, joins the club from Russian outfit Rostov.

“With Armin, we get a flexible, defensive player for the midfield who, despite his young age, already has national and international experience,” said managing director for sport Carsten Wehlmann.

“He fits in well with our philosophy and will give us additional options. We are convinced that Armin can bring his qualities to us and develop them further. We have had very good discussions and feel that he is a good fit for us both as a person and as a player.”

Gigovic is looking forward to playing in the German Bundesliga.

“The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in Europe and I want to take up the challenge with Holstein Kiel. That's why I want to get to know the team and start training as soon as possible. I would like to thank the club and those responsible for the good, constructive and trusting talks,” he said.
