As Borussia Dortmund gear up for their all-important clash with Holstein Kiel on Saturday, head coach Niko Kovač faced the media at his press conference.

With BVB currently in fifth place, the 53-year-old knows their fate is in their hands and a 2-goal winning margin would likely secure Champions League football next season.

"The last few weeks have shown that we've done a lot of things right. We don't need to make any major changes in our preparations.

"We have to use everything that has made us strong in recent weeks. We know how difficult the game will be.

“We won't have made it until we've scored two goals more than our opponents by 5:20 p.m,” he added.

Kovač wrapped up with a rather short squad availability update and expressed his happiness at Daniel Svensson signing a new deal until 2029.

"Maxi Beier will be out, Pascal Groß is suspended, but everyone else is available.

“I'm very happy that we were able to retain Daniel. Nobody probably expected his performance to be like this. As a coach, I'm very happy for him," Kovač said.
