Fernando Carro has been nominated for the DFL supervisory board, according to the latest report from Kicker.

The Bayer Leverkusen CEO is strongly admired for his professional qualities, and ability to lead discussion.

Furthermore, this is likely a strategic signal that securing the 50+1 rule can only be achieved in consensus with the exceptions, which includes Leverkusen.

At the start of September, elections to determine the new members to the Executive Committee and Supervisory Board will commence.

Borussia Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke is current chairman of the organisation with Oliver Leki as deputy chair.

Three other individuals make up the board which include Rüdiger Fritsch, Ralf Huschen and Stephan Schippers.
