Raum more expensive than initially thought?

Hoffenheim and Germany left-back David Raum, who has been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City, could cost more than previously believed.
Hoffenheim's David Raum is being linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City after enjoying an impressive first season in the Bundesliga, which saw him score three goals and provide 13 assists.

However, the 24-year-old will not be available on the cheap, with four years still left on the contract he signed with 'Die Kraichgauer' in January.

According to a report in today's edition of German football magazine Kicker, the reported €30 million release clause in Raum's contract will not be active until 2023.

As a result, Hoffenheim will be commanding a "significantly higher" transfer fee for Raum, per Kicker, who claims that it would take an offer of around €40 million to prize the former Greuther Fürth player away from Rhein-Neckar-Arena this summer.
