Bayern Munich have dropped their interest in West Ham United captain Declan Rice, according to multiple reports.

At a board meeting yesterday, Bayern bosses decided not to make an offer for Rice, with Arsenal appearing to have won the race to sign the defensive midfielder, according to Bild.

Having missed out on their first-choice candidate for the No. 6 position, Bayern will now shift their focus to signing a new striker, Sky Germany reports.

Per Sport1, Bayern and head coach Thomas Tuchel would ideally still like to bring in a defensive midfielder this summer, but at the moment there is no convincing plan B for Rice.

Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat, who has been touted as an alternative, is not a target as his profile doesn't match what Bayern are looking for, according to Bild.
