Kevin Volland and Lars Bender to miss Leverkusen's meeting with Werder
Kevin Volland and Lars Bender have been ruled out of Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga clash with Werder Bremen on Monday.
Bayer Leverkusen will have to manage without Kevin Volland and club captain Lars Bender when they lock horns with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Monday.
Volland is recovering from a syndesmotic ligament tear while Bender has picked up a foot injury.
"Lars Bender has a problem with his right football and unfortunately won't be able to join us tomorrow. We hope that it will not take too long before he's back. The injury is a blow for him and the team," said Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz at the pre-match press conference.
"Except for Lars Bender and Kevin Volland, I think everyone should be available. We will also include some youth players in our squad, including Florian Wirtz," he added.
Meanwhile, Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt will be without Ludwig Augustinsson and Claudio Pizarro for the game, which will kick off at 20.30 CET on Monday.
