Bayern München took a huge step towards advancing to the Champions League quarter-finals with a crushing 4-1 victory away from home in their first last-16 tie against Lazio.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring after just nine minutes, taking advantage of a mistake from Lazio to take the ball around Pepe Reyna and tap it into the empty net.

Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané added to the lead in the first half before Bayern made it 4-0 thanks to a Francesco Acerbi own goal just after the break.

Joaquin Correa then pulled one back for the hosts, but Bayern still secured a clear win.
