Shuffling required in defense

With players such as Raphael Guerreiro, Angelino and Paulo Otavio out until the next international break, fantasy managers had to scramble to get replacements for these players. For the potential replacements, premium player Alphonso Davies (14.9M, 7) had an average fantasy showing but seems like the best option into Bayern’s defense at the moment. Marcel Halstenberg (14M, 8) looks like a good option for this weekend’s individual fixture game against Bielfeld (A). Phillip Mwene (2.2M, 12) had another good showing and is a valuable budget asset playing at LWB with defensive and offensive returns.

Goretzka in form

Bayern München extended their lead over Leipzig at the top of the table with a convincing 3-1 win over Werder Bremen, of which midfielder Leon Goretzka (16.3M, 12) scored again and showed promise of more attacking returns, playing much more advanced as compared to his partner Joshua Kimmich (19.2M, 6), even though Kimmich has the advantage of taking set pieces. Against Stuttgart (H), goals are certain to come, and investing in Bayern can rarely go wrong.

Leverkusen and Gladbach disappoints again

Leverkusen and Gladbach lost their fixtures 2-0 and 3-1 respectively despite both needing wins to qualify for the Champions League next season. Leverkusen in particular looked uninspiring in their defeat, and despite the allure of good stand-alone fixtures, investing in Leverkusen assets is highly questionable at the moment and looks like a huge trap. Fullbacks Wendell, DEF (7.2M, 2) and Jeremie Frimpong, DEF (8.8M, 2) were particularly disappointing, having barely any returns offensively or defensively.

Shocks of the matchday:

Marco Richter, MID (9.6M, 23) scored 1 and assisted 1 as he carried most of Augsburg attack.

Nico Schlotterbeck, DEF (4.5M, 17) had a very impressive showing with 8 points just from goal attempts and could be an enticing option.

Ridle Baku, MID (9.8M, 19) played at left back for Wolfsburg and still managed a goal and a assist and is looking like the most consistent point scorer amongst the Wolfsburg midfield at the moment.
