Amidst all the talk of Nick Woltemade’s potential blockbuster transfer to Bayern, it appears his Germany U21’s teammate Rocco Reitz could also be subject to a transfer saga according to different reports from Sky Germany and TEAMtalk.

Coming off the back of a successful European Under-21 Championship - where Germany narrowly lost to England in the final - Reitz has caught the eye of several clubs across Europe.

Fulham, Brighton, and West Ham are all reportedly keen to bring the tenacious midfielder to the Premier League, although no official bids have been made yet.

Despite all signs seemingly pointing towards the Premier League for Reitz, staying in the Bundesliga shouldn’t be ruled out too as RB Leipzig are also reportedly set to contest for his signature and try to convince the 23 year old to remain in Germany. Managing director for sport Marcel Schafer was reportedly in attendance for the final in Bratislava presumably keeping an eye on Reitz and other members of the squad with a view to potential transfers.

Having only signed a contract extension running until 2028 not too long ago, the general feeling is that Gladbach will be holding out for a fee north of the €20m mark as they fight to keep one of their key players with ambitions of bettering last seasons 10th placed finish.

The midfielder made 27 Bundesliga appearances for Gerardo Seoane’s side last season, including 21 starts whilst scoring 2 goals and registering one assist.

It is also worth noting that Reitz has a release clause in his contract active from 2026 for a reported fee of €20m, meaning Die Fohlen could be forced to cash in early this summer and try to ignite a bidding war in hopes of maximising transfer earnings if it becomes apparent that a transfer away is inevitable.
