On what could hardly have been a better Germany U21 debut, Bayern Munich’s 17-year-old wonderkid Lennart Karl scored a brace in Friday’s 6-0 win over Malta.
Unsurprisingly, Karl was thrilled after the match.
“Of course, it went perfectly again. U21 debut, two goals, very good performance from the team, good performance from me. It’s just fun to play with this group,” he told ran.
Things have moved quickly for Karl, who has already made 13 appearances for Bayern this season, but the young attacker remains grounded.
“Of course, I’m in top form right now. Everything is going well at Bayern, basically everything is going well here. I’m aware of the hype, of course, but I don’t pay attention to what is written on Instagram," he said.
