Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Eliesse Ben Seghir is facing a spell on the sidelines.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder sustained a ligament injury in his left ankle while on international duty with Morocco.

As a result, he will be out of action for "several weeks," Leverkusen announced on Tuesday.

Ben Seghir has made just 13 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself without registering a goal or an assist since joining from Monaco for a reported €32 million fee last summer.
