Borussia Dortmund have been working for some time to extend Carney Chukwuemeka’s stay following the expiry of his loan from Chelsea.

However, negotiations with the Blues have proven difficult. Chelsea would prefer to sell the midfielder outright rather than send him out on loan again, and their asking price is reportedly higher than what Dortmund are willing to pay.

As a result, Dortmund have started exploring alternatives - and according to Fabrizio Romano, they’ve identified Facundo Buonanotte of Brighton & Hove Albion as a target.

Romano also reports that Olympique Lyon are interested in the 20-year-old attacking midfielder.

The Argentine international spent last season on loan at Leicester, racking up five goals and two assists in 31 Premier League games.
