Nuri Sahin opts to retire and focus solely on coaching

At the age of 33, former Borussia Dortmund and SV Werder Bremen professional Nuri Sahin has declared his active playing career over.
The question as to whether Bundesliga veteran and Lüdenscheid native Nuri Sahin would continue to lace up after being awarded his first head-coaching job appears to be answered. The 33-year-old told Spanish sports daily Diario AS that he would indeed hang up his boots to focus solely on coaching Fraport TAV Antalyaspor.

The long-term holder of the record as the youngest player ever to appear for a Bundesliga club thus ends a 16-year playing career that included 13 seasons playing in the German top flight. Sahin won both the German league and cup titles whilst playing for Dortmund.
