Confirmed: Wolfsburg sell Weghorst to Burnley

Wout Weghorst has left VfL Wolfsburg for Burnley FC.
VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed the departure of Wout Weghorst, who has signed for English Premier League side Burnley FC.

"Wout is a player that our scouts have been strong on for some time and we feel that he can add to all that we do at Burnley Football Club. His signing is a continued show of the club's and team's development. We wish Wout well as he earns the right to push our group forwards," said Burnley manager Sean Dyche.

Weghorst spent three and a half seasons at Volkswagen Arena, scoring 70 goals and providing 22 assists in 144 games.

Wolfsburg presented his successor earlier today, confirming the arrival of Danish forward Jonas Wind from FC Copenhagen.

'Die Wölfe' have also brought in Max Kruse and Kevin Paredes while Josuha Guilavogui, Daniel Ginczek, Marvin Stefaniak and Jannis Lang have left the club this month.
