Hertha BSC left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt featured for the first time this season in last week's 1-1 draw, as he filled in for the injured Marvin Plattenhardt.

Previously, however, the 25-year-old was left out of Hertha's squad for their first two games of the season.

And with Plattenhardt likely to reclaim his spot at left-back once he's fit again, the Mittelstädt admits he's considering his situation at the club.

"It wasn't a nice few weeks, so it was a nice feeling for me to be back on the pitch. Let's see how it continues," Mittelstädt told Kicker.

"Of course you think about [the future]," admitted Mittelstädt, whose contract with Hertha expires in 2023.

"Let's see what happens now. Everything is open."
