Rani Khedira pens new Union Berlin contract

Union Berlin have extended the contract of Rani Khedira.
Rani Khedira will remain at Union Berlin beyond the summer after signing a new contract with the German capital club.

"Union was my first choice because I feel very comfortable here," the 29-year-old midfielder said of his new deal.

"The coaching and playing staff, as well as the club as a whole, have ambitious goals and work together as a unit; that's the best basis for continued success. That's why I'm really looking forward to wearing the Union jersey in the future and doing my best for the further success of the club."

The club's managing director of professional football, Oliver Ruhnert, added:

"Rani is an important part of our squad, both on and off the pitch. We are convinced that his exemplary commitment and outstanding attitude will continue to give us a lot in the future.

Union did not disclose the duration of the new contract.
