Hütter on Glasner's outburst: "It was a harmless question."

Speaking on the latest episode of Germany's "Kicker meets DAZN" podcast, released Monday, former Eintracht Frankfurt head-coach Adi Hütter expressed consternation at the manner in which his successor Oliver Glasner handled a reporter's question at a Saturday presser.
A seemingly unprovoked diatribe from Eintracht Frankfurt trainer Oliver Glasner during a Saturday presser has, according to multiple reports, led to a decision to part company with the coach after the current season concludes and the June 3rd DFB-Pokal Final is played. There are some reports that Eintracht are preparing to release Glasner even sooner. Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that SGE sporting director Markus Krösche will have a sit-down with Glasner this week.

Former Eintracht trainer Adi Hütter has joined the growing chorus of footballing figures speaking out against Glasner's behavior. Hütter knows something about having to field questions about a departure after the season whilst representing the RheinMain club. The Austrian had to explain his own immiment departure to Borussia Mönchengladbach during the spring of 2021; a time when - just like now - Eintracht Frankfurt's qualification for Europe via the table was slipping way.

"Of course it surprised me," Hütter said when asked about Glasner's outburst on the Monday edition of Germany's 'Kicker meets DAZN' podcast, "I know that journalist very well and he holds Oliver Glasner in the highest regard. Oliver is seething right now because he's hungry for success, but the question was harmless. You're allowed to ask that question."

"People like to hear emotional responses, but those are truly things one should work out privately," Hütter continued, "If it keeps happening and one keeps apologizing afterwards, people will begin to doubt your sincerity. A coach must do his job. Take the emotions out of it. Answer calmly and objectively. Generating headlines isn't good. As a coach, you're a representative of the club."
