Köln's Schindler moves to Turkey

The departure of German fullback/.winger Kingsley Schindler from his long-time club of 1. FC Köln was confirmed yesterday. 
Hamburg-native Kingsley Schindler is headed over to Turkey to continue his professional career. The 1. FC Köln professional was unable to agree to terms on a new contract with his Bundesliga side and was thus allowed to move to newly promoted Turkish side Samsunspor on a free. The 30-year-old joins defender Rick van Drongelen as the second player from German football switching to the Turkish side this summer.

Schindler moves abroad for the first time in his career. In the past twelve years, the right-footer played in all three German professional footballing divisions for Hannover 96, Holstein Kiel, and Köln. He made 60 top-tier appearances for Köln, scoring one goal. In the second and third divisions, Schindler scored 40 goals in 117 appearances. The German-Ghanaian also netted twice in Germany's domestic cup competition.
