Confirmed: Dortmund loanee Jeremy Toljan to stay at Sassuolo

Jeremy Toljan will be spending another season on loan at Sassuolo.
Borussia Dortmund have extended Jeremy Toljan's loan spell at Sassuolo by a further season.

The full-back joined the Italian side last summer and has gone on to make 24 appearances in the Serie A so far.

The deal includes a purchase obligation, which will automatically apply if conditions agreed between the two clubs have been met.

"There have been many inquiries about 'Jerry' since he has performed so well in Italy. He feels very much at home in Sassuolo, however, and has developed enormously here," Toljan's agent, Ersin Akan, recently said in an interview with Sport1.

"The fact that he can play against top strikers in the Serie A every week has encouraged us to stay," he added.

Toljan's deal with Dortmund expires in 2022.
