Amid speculation over his future at Bayern Munich, Max Eberl is said to have held talks with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.
According to Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah, Al-Ittihad recently spoke with Eberl about the possibility of appointing him as their new sporting director.
However, discussions between the Saudi club and Bayern’s board member for sport have reportedly stalled due to differing views on the club’s future sporting direction.
Eberl joined Bayern in 2024 and is under contract with the German champions until 2027.
The 52-year-old has previously said he could imagine extending his stay, but an extension is not set in stone, with reports suggesting that parts of his work are being viewed critically by the supervisory board.
Update: Sky Germany have denied the report that Eberl has held talks with Al-Ittihad, insisting the 52-year-old’s clear goal remains signing a contract extension with Bayern.
