At the trophy tour of the FIFA Club World Cup today, Bayern’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen spoke to the club’s media.

The Bavarian’s boss addressed the players’ desire to complete the season and go all out to win the Club World Cup in June.

“It’s a special year for us, and it’s something special to play in a tournament like this. Seven matches to the final – that’s an enormous strain on the players.

“But they are all fired up; they not only want to participate, but they also want to win. Having that as motivation, even in out 125th-year is something special.

“The Club World Cup is a huge opportunity one year before the World Cup – an opportunity to showcase European club football to the US audience.

“The US is an incredibly exciting market. Therefore, it’s a real opportunity for us Europeans and here at Bayern to gain a stronger foothold in the US,” he explained.
