FC Nürnberg have confirmed the signing of Manuel Wintzheimer from Hamburger SV.

The 23-year-old striker joins Nürnberg as a free agent, when his contract with HSV expires this summer.

"Manuel has the perfect age to take the oft-cited next step. And we trust him to complete this together with us. He can be used variably in the offensive area. In addition, he already knows the 2nd division well from almost 100 games despite his young age," said Nürnberg director of sports Dieter Hecking.

Wintzheimer becomes Nürnberg's third summer signing. The 2. Bundesliga have already confirmed that Shawn Blum and Erik Wekesser will arrive from Kaiserslautern and Regensburg, respectively.
