Berisha touted as a possible replacement for Füllkrug at Werder

Should Niclas Füllkrug leave Werder Bremen, the Green-Whites could bring in Mergim Berisha as his replacement, Bild reports.
With Niclas Füllkrug linked with a move away from Werder Bremen, the Bundesliga side appear to have identified a possible replacement for the 30-year-old striker.

According to Bild, Werder could make a move for Augsburg striker Mergim Berisha if Füllkrug were to leave.

Augsburg recently made Berisha's loan move from Fenerbahce permanent for €4 million. According to Bild, 'Die Függerstädter' are likely to demand four or five times that amount – 16 to 20 million – to sell the 25-year-old.

Mathys Tel has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for Füllkrug, with Bayern Munich reportedly considering sending the 18-year-old out on loan.

It was reported yesterday that Füllkrug has rejected an initial offer to extend his Werder contract beyond 2025, with Bayer Leverkusen, Fiorentina and Atalanta among the clubs he's been linked with.

Nevertheless, a contract extension doesn't seem to be completely off the table for the striker.
