Thomas Tuchel has insisted that Bayern Munich didn't crash out of the DFB-Pokal against 3. Liga side Saarbrücken because they underestimated their opponents.

The Bayern Munich coach told German television after the 2-1 defeat on Wednesday evening:

"We weren't arrogant or taking it lightly. There are either 100 explanations or none. It feels strange.

"Everyone who says we have to win here is right. There is no clever explanation, we are super disappointed.

"We wanted to go to Berlin with all our might. It is what it is, we congratulate the opponent," Tuchel said.

Asked about the injury Matthijs de Ligt suffered in the first half, Tuchel said:

"It's the same knee again, the same capsule. It's very painful. We'll have to wait and see."

Bayern will be fired up to get back to winning ways when they face rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.
