The former Hertha BSC player Sinan Kurt says he feels he never really got a chance at the German capital club.

Much was once expected from Kurt, 22, who was snapped up from Borussia Mönchengladbach by Bayern München as a youngster. But after failing to make an impact at Bayern, he moved on to join Hertha in 2016.

Kurt, who now plays for the Austrian second-tier side WSG Wattens, didn't enjoy much success in Berlin either, but the midfielder explains it was difficult for him to make his breakthrough, because he couldn't get along with Hertha coach Pal Dardai.

"It's no secret that I didn't have a good relationship with the coach in Berlin. The fun was taken out of the football for me there. I couldn't clear my head, because I knew that I wasn't on the same wavelength with the coach. Then you don't play football well," Sinan Kurt told Sport Bild.

When asked if he feels he was unfairly treated, Kurt answered:

"I never got a real chance. I was in the squad for a long time, but it's difficult to show anything if you only get five minutes on the pitch per game. As a result of that, yes, I felt I was unfairly treated."

Kurt has made 29 appearances for Germany's youth national teams.
