Bremen-based Weser-Kurier reported on Friday that RB Leipzig have won the race to sign the highly-rated winger.
However, RB Leipzig boss Markus Krösche since denied that the club would be willing to trigger Rashica's €38 million release clause.
And when asked about Rashica in an interview with Sportbuzzer, which was published today, RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff said:
"I haven't seen him - not even through the glass door."
At this point, there are no negotiations between the two clubs, according to Sport Bild.
Nevertheless, 'Die Roten Bullen' are indeed interested in Rashica, according to the German media outlet, who claims that the Werder star has met with RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann.
After talking to Nagelsmann, Rashica would prefer RB Leipzig to Liverpool, with whom he has also been linked with, as per the report.
While €38 million is too much for RB Leipzig, they would reportedly be interested in triggering Rashica's clause if it drops to €15 million.
Werder Bremen sit 17th in the Bundesliga with a game in hand.
