Leandro Barreiro extends Mainz contract
Mainz and Leandro Barreiro have agreed on a contract extension.

The 21-year-old midfielder's deal was due to expire in 2022, but has now been extended until 2024.
"Leandro has gone through great development over the past few years, and he is far from at his peak. I've known him since my time as U19 coach. Even then he was immensely professional, ambitious and, despite his great talent, always willing to work hard on himself," said Mainz coach Bo Svensson.
"Leo is a team player who gives everything for his team and the fans in every training session and every game. His running strength, ball security and aggressiveness as well as his good character make him an absolute asset to our team".
Barreiro featured 31 times for Mainz through the 2020/21 campaign, chipping in with two goals and two assists.
