Sky Report: Stuttgart target Burnley central defender

ky Germany's Dennis Bayer is currently reporting that VfB Stuttgart are actively negotiating for a purchase of Belgian international Ameen Al-Dakhil of EFL Championship side Burnley FC.

With recent developments exacerbating VfB Stuttgart's urgent need to bring in another marquee actor to work in central defense, Sky Germany's Dennis Bayer reports that the Swabians are working hard to sign Ameen Al-Dakhil of recently relegated-from-the-Premiership side Burnley FC. The Iraqi born 22-year-old currently maintains an estimated market worth of €12 million.

Writing on social media platform X Friday evening, Bayer reports that "positive talks" had taken place between the German club and the player's representatives. Both clubs, per Bayer, wish to iron out a purchase. A potential stumbling block to the deal may nevertheless be the fact that Al-Dakhil brings with him the baggage of injury issues from last season.

Bayer does not write on the possibility of a medical being scheduled. Stuttgart's search for a new center back to help anchor the defensive corps ahead of the new season has produced links with both Southampton's Armel Bella-Kotchap and even former star Konstantinos Mavropanos of West Ham. German footballing media outlets mostly downplay the Mavropanos and Bella-Kotchap rumors, however.

@Plettigoal @berger_pj @SkySportDE https://t.co/txiicNjAtW
