VfL Wolfsburg are reportedly interested in signing three Hertha BSC players, as they look to build their squad for next season.
According to Sport Bild and Transfermarkt, 28-year-old left winger Fabian Reese, 22-year-old centre-back Linus Gechter, and 23-year-old goalkeeper Tjark Ernst are all potential options to join Die Wölfe in the summer transfer window.
At the same time, the club has developed a financial plan, in the worst-case scenario of relegation from the Bundesliga. The club could sell various players, including Mohamed Amoura, Kamil Grabara, Konstantinos Koulierakis, Lovro Majer, Mattias Svanberg, and Patrick Wimmer to other clubs - leaving them with at least €100 million to spend on transfer targets.
All three of the aforementioned Hertha players would fit within that total, as they are worth a combined total of €12.5 million. Reese is currently worth €5 million, followed by Ernst at €4 million, and Gechter at €3.5 million. All three are currently contracted until at least 2027, with Reese in particular signed with Hertha until 2030.
Reese has 10 goals and 4 assists in 28 matches in 2. Bundesliga this season. Gechter has started 26 matches without a goal or assist; Ernst has played 28 matches, with 35 goals conceded and 11 clean sheets.
