Miroslav Klose has extended his contract as head coach of 1. FC Nürnberg, the club announced on Thursday.

The 2. Bundesliga outfit did not reveal the length of the new deal.

"Miro and I have always agreed that we want to continue our path together in the future. We have known each other for a long time, trust each other, and over the past weeks we were able to thoroughly discuss the points that we consider important for shaping FCN’s future successfully. It is always important for both of us to find constructive solutions in the interest of the club. We have now achieved that in this case as well. We look forward to the time ahead together," said 1. FC Nürnberg sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou.

"From day one, Miro has identified strongly with the club, the region, and the people here. He is highly respected by the players, the club management, and the fans. Together, we will do everything to move the club forward."

Klose, who has coached 1. FC Nürnberg since 2024, commented:

"We have used the time to address topics internally and discuss them openly and constructively. The direction has always been the same for Joti and me. Together, we want to develop the club further and push it forward. I have never doubted our shared path. I value him and the collaboration with him greatly.

“The club and the people who give so much for this special club have become very dear to me in a short time. The way the fans support the team and me here every week is fantastic. I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the club management and the fans, and I look forward to continuing our work together,” said the former German international.
