Report: André Silva set for Werder Bremen stay after all?

Die Werderaner are facing a 180-turn on the Portuguese marksman.

As DeichStube reports, Werder Bremen is currently considering whether a permanent signing of André Silva is possible.

RB Leipzig would certainly not put any obstacles in the way, as Silva was already excluded from the first friendly of the season.

However, the Portuguese would certainly have to accept a significant salary cut should be join Werder Bremen permanently.

DeichStube suggests the change of coach from Ole Werner to Horst Steffen is key, with the latter likely field more attacking players.

This will supposedly include the €10million new signing Samuel Mbangula, who is scheduled to arrive in Bremen tomorrow, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Werder Bremen is working on offloading strikers like Dawid Kownacki who is set for a loan move to Hertha BSC.

Marvin Ducksch could go if a reasonable offer is received, but the 31-year-old's recent calf injury isn't exactly generating any new interest.
