According to local news source Deichstube, another name in the form of Martín Demichelis has been linked to Werder Bremen.

While some of the discussion revolves around Dieter Hecking and Daniel Thioune, the former Bayern Munich center-back is also available.

The Argentinian's contract with CF Monterrey in Mexico ended in May, therefore making him a candidate to coach Bremen.

The trail isn't exactly hot yet, but the struggling Bundesliga club are seriously considering the 45-year-old – and not just superficially.

It's also since been confirmed that potential replacement Bo Svensson has turned down the chance to fill the void left by Horst Steffen.

Demichelis gained experience coaching Bayern Munich's youth and reserve teams, and he also managed River Plate in his native Argentina.

Now he could coach in Germany's topflight for the first time in his managerial career having played 259 games in his playing days for Bayern.
