Germany goalkeeper joins Barcelona’s England trip amid Ajax deal

Marc-André ter Stegen is included in FC Barcelona’s traveling squad to Birmingham for pre-season. The Germany international is still expected to complete his loan deal to Ajax Amsterdam in the coming days.
According to reports, everything is agreed between the two teams, but tax issues regarding his salary remain to be clarified. Ajax’s new coach Michel also commented on the deal as he looks forward to the arrival of the 34-year-old.
"Everyone knows what's going on. Let's hope he can help us and soon we can talk about it." said the coach who worked with ter Stegen at Girona.
The initial plan was for ter Stegen to travel to Amsterdam on Monday to complete his medical check. However, the former Borussia Mönchengladbach shot-stopper will now have to wait until the recent issues are solved.
Hansi Flick’s side traveled to Birmingham on Monday as they continued their preparations for the upcoming season. As expected, ex-Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi is included in the squad after completing his move on Friday.
